Church History

New Light Baptist Church welcomes you to this body of Christ. We invite you to worship, praise, and serve the Lord with us in spirit and in truth. If you are looking for a church home, fresh start, a new light; look no more. Grow with us.. The Lord is blessing us tremendously. We look forward to those who will step out on faith to be faithful disciples; willing to serve the Lord. The harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few. I am praying for every one of you that the will of God touches your soul; that you will decide to "join us on our journey in serving the Lord. Amen.

Church History: On February 15, 2003, Reverend Stevens with a few faithful disciples - Mother Mary Stevens, Mother Helen Savage, Deacon Thomas Savage, Sister Anthonette Stevens and Deacon Bradley Stevens - met to start a new church. Services were held at Pastor and Sister Stevens' home.

The church name, suggested by Deacon Thomas Savage, was established as New Light Baptist Church. The adoption of the name is significant. The New Light Baptist Church strives to be a new light to the saved and unsaved, a light that would renew their spirit and love for God.

The Lord blessed the church with the opportunity to temporarily hold worship services at the Lorraine Community Center for three months. As New Light Baptist Church neared its first anniversary, September 30, 2003, it was recognized by the state and federal governments as a church organization. The congregation was soon able to locate to a permanent home. Through the miraculous workings and blessing of the Lord, the church moved to its new home at 474 N. Santa Fe, Fountain, Colorado on  March 15, 2004. On April 1, 2004, Bible study commenced at the new church home. The first full worship service was held on June 4, 2004.  On August 22, 2004 New Light Baptist Church was recognized by the other Baptist churches. On that date, Reverend Stevens was ordained as its pastor and leader.

On our journey, as we stumble over rocks, ruts in the road and shadows that try to cause us to question our direction, God is with us and in us. He has promised to guide us, light the way and protect us. We will press on toward the mark of the high calling of our Lord. We thank God for His promises and His continued blessings as we travel the road through this life, singing glory to His name.
